The application period for Assistant Commissioner of the 2017 QCSL Executive Board is open.
To fill the position of Assistant Commissioner, the QCSL board will begin taking applications to fill the open position for the 2017 season. Since this position has been vacated mid-term, this position is a ONE YEAR appointment.
Applications must be submitted via e-mail ([email protected]) by Saturday, December 10, 2016. In your e-mail, please include why you want to hold the position of Assistant Commissioner, and what, if any, ideas you have to improve QCSL.
It is important to note that the Assistant Commissioner is required to be at Lasalle Park each Sunday by 10:15 am, and be present at the end of the day’s gameplay (around 5:00 pm) in order to collect and store league equipment. Please only submit an application if you have reliable transportation and can commit to the time necessary for the duties associated with the position.
The Assistant Commissioner performs all duties of the Commissioner in case of absence or disability of the Commissioner. The Assistant Commissioner assumes the Commissioner’s Chair when it is vacated before the end of the term.
The Assistant Commissioner is responsible for overseeing, storing and transporting league equipment during the season and offseason. This includes inventory and ordering of new equipment.
The Assistant Commissioner will:
- Promote the QCSL to other groups and individuals who may be unfamiliar with the League and who represent potential members for the League.
- Umpire Liaison; secure contact with an umpire association for the season through a bid process.
- Maintain adequate inventory of game balls, safety bags, bases, and other equipment.
- Player fee and application/waiver form collection.
Holding a position on the Board carries with it a responsibility to represent QCSL members and sponsors and to help guide the league in a manner that adheres to its mission.
For a nomination to be considered, the member must be in good standing, which means the member cannot have been suspended, ejected or on probation this year.
The term to fill this open position is one year. Please only submit a nomination if you are committed to fulfill your responsibilities for the length of the term.
